The Beaver Dam High School football team (9-1) heads to Kaukauna (8-2) for a WIAA Division Two, Level 2 Playoff Game tonight for a game you can watch on DailyDodge TV and hear on 1430 ESPN Beaver Dam.
The 5th seeded Golden Beavers advanced to the 2nd round with an impressive 35-21 win at #4 Menasha last Friday night. Senior QB Eli Braynt threw for a pair of TDs and ran for another in the win.
The top-seeded Galloping Ghosts shook off a slow start to blow up Pulaski 45-13 last week in their playoff opener. Kaukauna shared the Fox Valley Association championship with Neenah and Kimberly this season. Their team is littered with All-FVA players including conference wide receiver of the year Parker Schuh (32 catches, 637 yards, 8 TDs).
This is the 3rd all-time meeting between the schools, but the first in over 50 years. In 1970, Beaver Dam picked up a 10-6 win, with the Ghosts returning the favor the next season with a 21-7 victory.
Historically the Beavers haven’t faced off with teams currently in the Fox Valley Association. They picked up a win over Appleton East in 1971 and dropped a 14-7 decision to Oshkosh North back in 1972. They also hold a 1-5 mark all-time against Fond du Lac. (Last meeting 1922).
