The Beaver Dam (Overall: 5-2, Badger Large: 3-2) football dropped a 14-7 decision at Sun Prairie West (Overall:5-2, Badger Large: 5-2) on Friday night.
The game was scoreless until the final minute of the 1st half when Dan Wilson went around the right side for a 49 yard TD run giving the Wolves the 7-0 lead into the break. QB Brady Rhoads put SPW up 14-0 when he connected with Ean Ackley on a 35 yard TD pass with 6:13 left in the 3rd.
Beaver Dam answered back when Camron Mendoza took a screen pass and rumbled 32 yards to pay dirt, cutting the West lead to 14-7.
Both teams exchanged turnovers late in the game, before Beaver Dam drove inside the 10 yard line with just over a minute to go when Ackley picked up Beaver Dam at the goal line to end the game.
The win snaps Beaver Dam’s two game win streak. The Golden Beavers can clinch a playoff spot next week when they host Oregon. Sun Prairie West can also clinch a postseason bid next week when they host DeForest.
