(Green Lake County) Green Lake County Chief Deputy Sheriff Matt Vande Kolk says they are seeing more serious and fatal accidents caused by distracted driving and drug use. He says both types of accidents are preventable thatโs why they constantly remind the public to put their cellphones down, keep their eyes on the road, and avoid getting behind the wheel if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Vande Kolk says the Sheriffโs Department does have drug recognition experts and their training allows them to tell when a driver has been using drugs. He adds that it may be embarrassing for someone to go through testing to determine if they are driving impaired, but the goal is to save lives and reduce injuries on our roadways.
