GKB John Moser Children’s Radiothon Raises Over $131K For 16 Local Non-Profits

(Beaver Dam) The Good Karma Brands John Moser Children’s Radiothon wrapped up this morning after raising well into six figures for 16 non-profits in the Dodge County area that work with kids. Good Karma Brands CEO Craig Karmazin announced the fundraising total Friday morning, following the 27-hour marathon broadcast. This year’s event brought in $131,684.16, so far.

The most money the Radiothon ever raised was in excess of $133-thousand-dollars in 2017 and Karmazin says with all the outstanding money still out there that has yet to be officially counted, there is no question in his mind that this will be the biggest year ever for the Radiothon. The 25-year-total is $2,513,986. Karmazin says through its history, the event has averaged over $100,000 a year.

A post-dawn announcement from an anonymous donor matched every donation dollar-for-dollar made to the Radiothon. Noel’s Angle Walk, organized by Scott and Lori Smith in memory of their one-year-old daughter, raised $8,100.  Chuck and Randy Neuman from Water Technology and Neuman Pools donated $10,000, but thanks to the anonymous donor, that amount was actually $20,000. The desert auction brought in roughly $2,000. The Beaver Dam Fire Department again brought their ladder truck to the radio station to make a $500 donation.

The Radiothon benefits 16 local charities that work with kids. The agencies include ARC of Dodge County, Badgerland Youth For Christ, Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bo’s Heavenly Clubhouse, Church Health Services, Clothes for Kids, Community Care Preschool, Dodge County Center for the Arts, Gathering Source, Green Valley Enterprises, Marsh Haven Nature Center, Open Door Coffee House, PAVE (Protect Advocate Validate Educate), Watertown Family Center, and YMCA of Dodge County.
