Friesland Murder Suspect Seeking Public Defender

(Friesland) A judge in Columbia County this week granted a request by the defense attorney for a Friesland murder suspect to withdraw from the case. Kevin Karl Krueger is facing four felony charges including First Degree Intentional Homicide, Possession of a Firearm By a Convicted Felon, Possession of Narcotic Drugs and Stalking Resulting in Bodily Harm. With the withdrawal of attorney Robert Nagel, Krueger will now seek representation through the state public defender’s office. Krueger reportedly claimed he does not remember shooting his estranged wife to death at a hotel in February of 2016. The 53-year-old allegedly stole a shotgun from a friend and used it to kill 41-year-old Tracy Krueger at the Ridge Motor Inn in Portage. A weeklong jury trial is slated to begin on June 18.
