(Fond du Lac) Fond du Lac County authorities pursued a juvenile in a stolen vehicle for just over two miles on Sunday night.
A sergeant with the sheriff’s office spotted a speeding vehicle near Pioneer Road and activated their emergency lights, but the suspect increased their speeds. The chase continued along Highway 151 and eventually ended near Hickory Street when the vehicle came to a stop. The driver was identified as a juvenile male from the city of Fond du Lac. Authorities learned that he broke into and hot-wired the vehicle shortly before the pursuit started.
The juvenile later admitted to breaking into and hot-wiring a second vehicle the night before which he crashed into a ditch then abandoned it. Charges of felony Fleeing, Operate a Vehicle without Owner’s Consent, and Criminal Damage to Property are being referred against the juvenile.
