Fond Du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy Suffers Knee Injury While Detaining Suspect

(Eldorado) A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy suffered a significant knee injury trying to detain a suspect in the Town of Eldorado Monday morning. Deputies responded to the area near N9515 alongside Highway 26 around 11:20am for a suspicious person looking into residential windows. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Chris Dobyns says when they encountered the man he appeared to be under the influence of narcotics or experiencing a mental health episode. A 27-year-old deputy was injured while trying to detain the man for his own safety. Dobyns says the 38-year-old Oshkosh man is now facing charges for resisting the deputies trying to help him. It was learned the man had jumped from a moving vehicle on Highway 26 in Winnebago County prior to his encounter with the deputies.
