(Fond du Lac) Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputy Blaine Evans and K9 Iro, along with the team who worked to save Iro’s life after a shooting incident, received awards from the Wisconsin Professional Police Association Saturday evening.
Deputy Evans and Iro received the Award for Valor, Deputy Michael Vis and Fond du Lac Police Officer Charles Beckford received the Meritorious Award. The BluePearl Pet Hospital team consisting of Dr. Ryan Demianiuk, Dr. Bruce VanEnkevort, Dr. Stephanie Brock, and Certified Vet Tech Allison Riedl received the Citizen Award. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says it was an evening to honor law enforcement officers from across the state for heroic and lifesaving actions over the past year. He adds it was also a great opportunity for Iro’s medical team to spend some time with deputies and Iro to celebrate his recovery.
