(Lamartine) Fond du Lac County authorities pursued a suspect for six miles over the weekend. A deputy ran a vehicle’s plates on Highway 23 in the town of Lamartine Saturday just before 8pm and discovered the registered owner had an active felony warrant.
The vehicle accelerated away at high speeds following law enforcement’s attempts to make contact. The chase continued northbound on Highway 26 until deputies lost sight of the vehicle. Authorities later found the suspect’s car after it struck a power pole which disabled it. The operator was located running in a nearby farm field and was taken into custody.
The 31-year-old Fond du Lac man is facing felony Fleeing charges. No squad cars were damaged in the pursuit.
