(FOND DU LAC) A Green Bay woman is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say she led law enforcement on a high-speed chase through Fond du Lac County early Wednesday.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says the pursuit began around 2:20 a.m. Jan. 28 after a vehicle was reported speeding through Winnebago County and entered Fond du Lac County on State Highway 26. A deputy clocked the vehicle at about 130 miles per hour in a 55-mph zone and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over.
Authorities say the vehicle continued south through Rosendale at speeds over 100 miles per hour. Deputies later deployed tire deflation devices, damaging the vehicle but not immediately stopping it.
The vehicle eventually left the roadway and drove through a farm field before deputies used a moving roadblock to keep it from reaching a nearby residential area. The pursuit ended after about 13 miles when deputies boxed in the vehicle.
The driver, a 28-year-old woman, was taken into custody after deputies broke a window to remove her from the vehicle and deployed a Taser when she resisted arrest, according to the sheriff’s office.
She was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges including felony fleeing and eluding, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, and resisting an officer. Three squad vehicles were damaged during the arrest.
The Waupun Police Department, Beaver Dam Police Department and LifeStar Ambulance assisted at the scene.
