Fond du Lac County Board Executive Questions Golf Course Future

(Fond du Lac) Fond du Lac County Executive Sam Kaufman says the county and its residents need to take a hard look at the future of the Rolling Meadows Golf Course. The county-owned 27-hole golf course on the southwest side of the city of Fond du Lac has an operational deficit of $2.6-million. Kaufman says the county can’t continue to operate the course at a deficit. He says it’s a beautiful golf course and an asset to the county but decisions need to be made about how to increase revenue at the course or whether to get out of the business of owning a golf course. Kaufman says at the very least the course needs a new club house. In December of 2020 the city of Mayville sold its city-owned golf course to Leroy Meats.
