Fond Du Lac County Authorities Seize A Pound Of Cocaine And A Pound Of Meth Following Traffic Stop

(Fond du Lac) Fond du Lac County authorities seized roughly one pound of cocaine and one pound of marijuana following a traffic stop Wednesday.

Sheriff’s office K-9 handler Nathan Birkholz and his dog Rip were patrolling Interstate-41 around 7pm when they spotted an equipment violation and pulled the vehicle over on Hickory Street. Birkholz conducted an open air sniff of the vehicle and Rip alerted to the odor of illegal drugs.

As the vehicle’s two occupants, both from Wisconsin Rapids, were being taken into custody one of the suspects became agitated and was resistive to the deputy’s commands. Birkholz retrieved Rip and the suspect then became cooperative and was taken into custody without further incident.

Both individuals are facing a number of drug charges including Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Possession with Intent to Deliver THC.
