(HUBBARD) Fire crews in Dodge County had a tense morning Wednesday after a small building fire threatened to spread — and even set off a propane tank.
It happened just after 1:30 a.m. in the Town of Hubbard. When firefighters got there, they found a 15-by-20-foot wood structure fully engulfed — with a 250-pound propane tank right next to it.
That tank started venting gas that caught fire, but crews managed to cool it down and shut it off before things got worse. They used about eight thousand gallons of water to put it out.
The structure’s a total loss, but no one was hurt.
