(Fond du Lac) Fire destroyed a home in the city of Fond du Lac early Tuesday morning. Crews responded to 984 Ashbury Court just after 1:30am and encountered heavy fire showing from the roof of the single family home. The lone occupant was rescued from her bedroom. Fire Chief Erick Gerritson says strong winds fed the fire, which was extinguished within an hour. There was extensive damage and the home is most likely a total loss. No one was injured and the cause of the blaze is being investigated. Chief Gerritson credits a neighbor for calling 911, which got the fire department there quick enough to rescue the home’s occupant before she was injured.
