(Lebanon) The fifth annual Kyle Kuehl Scholarship Fundraiser is taking place this weekend in Lebanon. The event raises funds for the scholarship that goes to a Watertown High School senior that is pursuing a career or furthering their education in one of the agricultural pathways. It begins at 12:30pm this Sunday at Lebanon Firemanโs Park on Highway R.ย
Kuehl passed away in a car accident on July 4th in 2018 at the age of 21. His family started a scholarship fund to keep his legacy and love for the agricultural industry alive.
This yearโs scholarship winner is Caty Kaczmarek, who will be attending Texas A&M University this fall majoring in Agronomy and Agribusiness management. The past winners include Kylie Nickels-2019, Alex Coughlin-2020, Lauren Marks-2021, Maryann Gudenkauf-2022, and Brandon Boyd-2023.
The fundraiser will include silent auction items and baskets, plus a 50/50 raffle, paddle raffles with prizes awarded between innings of the Rock River Hardball game and other raffles. Bucket raffle tickets are $5 each, or $10 for three tickets, or $20 for 8 tickets. The raffle drawings and door prizes will be held at the end of the Lebanon Whitetails Rock River League game.
In honor of Kuehlโs love of farming a tractor/ truck parade will be held again this year ending at Lebanon Firemanโs park. The parade will begin at N525 Hancock Road in Watertown at 11:30 a.m.
In honor of the years that Kuehl played on the Lebanon baseball teams as a youth, the benefit will be a part of the โLebanon Family day of Baseballโ. The Rock River League Lebanon Whitetails hardball game against the Brownsville 49ers will begin at 1:30pm. At approximately 4pm, all the Lebanon youth players, coaches, umpires and sponsors that are a part of the Lebanon youth baseball program will be recognized. At 5:30pm the Lebanon Whitetails (Brooks-High School level team) will play against the Dousman Strikers.
There will be over 100 raffle and silent auction items, including many donations from area residents and businesses and organizations. Some of the items include area gift cards and gift certificates, a load of gravel, Packers, Brewers, Milwaukee Admiral, Mallards and Timber Rattlers tickets, clothing, food, wine, furniture, dรฉcor, outdoor furniture, zoo passes and museum passes, Kalahari night in the Dells, and much more. Silent auction bids will close after the 7th inning of the Rock River League game.
There will be a food stand in the middle of the park, selling brats, hamburgers, pulled pork and walking tacos. All proceeds from the food will go towards the scholarship. Proceeds from refreshments will be going to the Lebanon Fire Department.
