FDL Board Approves ARPA Funding

(Fond du Lac) The Fond du Lac County Board recently approved sharing over $2-million-dollars in American Rescue Plan Act funds with several non-profit efforts. The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area will receive $500,000 for the construction and development of a new center in Ripon. A similar amount will go towards a new homeless shelter in Fond du Lac. Moraine Park Technical College will also see funds to build and develop an Automation, Innovation, and Robotics Center at its Fond du Lac campus. In addition, the Countyโ€™s Department of Community Programs will receive $525,000 to create two full-time positions of Staff Psychiatric Social Worker. Dodge County leaders are still discussing how to best spend its $17-million-dollars in ARPA funding. Over $72-million in project proposals were submitted by several municipalities, organizations, and non-profits. The countyโ€™s goal is to have the board of supervisors vote on several funding requests at their May meeting.
