(Fond du Lac) The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office reports enforcement efforts from the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. The campaign began on December 15th and wrapped up on New Year’s Day.
Sheriff’s officials say during that time period, deputies made 14 OWI arrests. There were also 33 speeding violations, 46 operating after revocation, 38 drug arrests, 30 felony arrests, and 34 misdemeanor arrests.
Lieutenant Eric Halbach says every impaired driving arrest has the potential to save lives and they are committed to continuing these efforts throughout 2024. Tips to avoid getting behind the wheel while impaired include identifying a designating driver before going out or utilizing a rideshare service.
Authorities also encourage drivers to buckle up and put their phone down when hitting the roads.
