(Lamartine) Fond du Lac County authorities responded to a fatal crash over the weekend. Sheriff’s deputies were called to Highway 151 at County Highway TC in the township of Lamartine around 5:43pm Saturday for a report of a two-vehicle crash.
An investigation determined that an eastbound vehicle on TC failed to yield to a southbound vehicle on 151. The southbound vehicle collided with the side of the eastbound vehicle, forcing both cars into the median.
The eastbound vehicle, operated by a 34-year-old woman from Brandon, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say the driver and lone occupant was not wearing a seatbelt.
The southbound vehicle, occupied by five people, was driven by a 41-year-old man from Fond du Lac who was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. The four other occupants, all wearing their seatbelts, sustained minor injuries.
Law enforcement say failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield to cross-traffic are believed to be contributing factors in the crash which is still under investigation.
