Fakes Earns National Softball Recognition

Beaver Dam’s Gabby Fakes has been selected as a runner-up for the extrainningsoftball.com National Club Player of the Week Award for the week of July 13th through July 19th.   The 14-year-old had a stellar week both on the mound and at the plate playing for the Wisconsin Bandits 14U Gold at last week’s USSSA Elite Select World Fastpitch Championships in Kansas City.  Fakes hit .571 with three doubles and four RBI at the event and also logged 28 and a third innings on the mound, striking out 39 batters and walking just three.   She gave up just four earned runs for an ERA of 0.996.  The Horicon based team finished in 3rd place at the national championship event.

Extrainningsoftball.com selects a National Club Team and National Club Player of the Week out of performances at national events across the United States each week during the season.
