Friday morning low temperatures will reach -15, with winds developing early that bring wind chill temperatures to between -30 and -40. Sub-zero wind chills will likely remain over the weekend and into the start of next week.
Once the warning expires, a Cold Weather Advisory will go into effect at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 23 until 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24. Wind chills are expected to reach as low as -20 to -29.
It’s recommended for anyone who needs to spend time outside to dress in layers, including a hat, face mask, and gloves, since frostbite can set into exposed skin in as little as ten minutes.
