(Beaver Dam) Governor Evers is doing a statewide tour that’s highlighting the National Travel and Tourism Week and Wisconsin’s tourism jobs and economy.
The governor and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) today put in a request for the release of $10 million in approved funding. Wisconsin tourism had a record-breaking year in 2022, and the tourism industry generated $23.7 billion in economic impact.
“Wisconsin’s tourism industry is a huge part of our state’s success – creating over $20 billion in economic impact and supporting over 100,000 jobs statewide each year,” said Evers.
Evers also put a proposal up for creating and funding a $30 million opportunity and attraction fund with the 2025 NFL Draft on the horizon. This would be included in his 2023-25 biennial budget.
