(Rosendale) One person was killed in a two vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County Friday. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene on Highway 26 near the intersection of Triple Kay Road south of the village of Rosendale around 12:20pm.
Upon arrival, deputies were able to locate a 71-year-old man from Eldorado pinned in the driver’s seat of one the involved vehicles. Authorities say he was unresponsive and unable to be removed at this time. Once medical teams and first responders arrived, the man was pronounced dead.
Initial investigation and witness statements indicate a northbound passenger vehicle, driven by the Eldorado man, had been deviating from the northbound lane onto the shoulder and back several times before the crash. This vehicle then deviated from the northbound lane, across the centerline and into the southbound lane of travel where it collided with a passenger car.
After impact, both vehicles came to rest on the southbound shoulder. The two occupants of the passenger car, both from the Edgerton area, were transported by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
