Dodge County Unemployment Rate Sees Improvement In September

(Dodge County) Regional jobless claims saw improvements in the ninth of the year.  

The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2.3-percent in September, a two-tenths of a percent improvement from August. Last year, the number was 2.5-percent. Dodge County jumped up nine spots in the statewide unemployment ranking to 19th, which is tied with multiple other counties.  

Columbia County jobless numbers went from 2.3-percent in August to 2.1-percent in September. A year ago, the figure was 2.5-percent.  

Jefferson Countyโ€™s unemployment rate also saw a two-tenths of a percent improvement from August to September, going to 2.5-percent. In 2023, the number was 2.7-percent.  

Fond du Lac Countyโ€™s month-to-month change was five-tenths of a percent, improving to 2.4-percent. Last year, the rate was 2.6-percent.  

Statewide, the unemployment rate was 2.9-percent in September, which is below the national rate of 4.1-percent.
