(FOX LAKE) A Dodge County teenager is in jail after investigators say a national tip led them to suspected child pornography.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office said it launched an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation after receiving a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Authorities did not say when the tip came in but said it prompted a follow-up investigation by local detectives.
As a result, an 18-year-old from Fox Lake was booked into the Dodge County Jail. The Sheriff’s Office said it is asking the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office to charge the teen with possession of child pornography, a Class D felony under Wisconsin law.
The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation’s Digital Forensics Unit assisted with the case.
