Dodge County Supervisor Per Diem’s Could Be Going Down

(Juneau) Dodge County supervisors may be getting paid less for the time they spend in meetings. The per diem rate currently is $60 for county board members and $65 for the committee chairperson per meeting. The Dodge County Board Executive Committee advanced the resolution this week that would drop the amount paid to supervisors and committee chairs by $10. The reasoning for the change is anticipated budgetary shortfalls and shrinking economies due to the COVID-19 health emergency. The resolution also adds that the pandemic has had a negative impact on federal, state and local economies, taxpayers, businesses and current and future budgets. The proposal would go into effect June 1st and would continue until the County Board changes the per diem amounts. The matter will be voted on during the County Board’s May 19th meeting.
