(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office will be tracking Santa’s sleigh tonight. Sheriff Dale Schmidt outlined the Saint Nicholas detail for us on this month’s Community Comment program. Schmidt says their advanced technology has allowed his department to monitor and track Santa sightings over Dodge County. He notes there are typically calls of suspicious activity reporting a male subject in a red coat driving a sleigh pulled by eight reindeer. That triggers an “Attempt to Locate” bulletin notifying law enforcement to keep an eye out for the jolly old elf who is known to traffic in cookies and milk. Past Santa sightings in Dodge County put Kris Kringle in the region around the midnight hour. For those with a scanner, the sheriff’s office channel is called “Law Three.” A link to the audio will be found on the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page as well.
