(Beaver Dam) The Dodge County Sheriff is asking the public’s help in locating a local Grinch. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says he noticed a week ago that a talking reindeer display had been cut down and unscrewed from the Mill Street shelter in Swan City Park. Schmidt, who chairs the Beaver Dam Rotary Lights in Swan Park Committee, says he is extremely disappointed in the incident as businesses and individuals have donated these lights to help with the seasonal display. This is the second time a decoration has been stolen from the park. Last year a projector casting lights inside the band shell was taken from the park as well. Schmidt says it is these reasons the committee is forced to look into additional security costs rather than spending all the dollars that are raised on displays and lights for the park. Anyone with information on the talking reindeer display is encouraged to contact the Beaver Dam Police Department (920-887-4614) or the Sheriff at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office (920-386-3726). Schmidt says he is hopeful that this Grinch’s heart will grow three sizes and the display will be returned from where it was taken for all to enjoy.
