(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to not obstruct their view when driving. Wisconsin state statutes say that the windshield, side wings, side, and rear windows shall always be reasonably clear. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says there is a fine if you choose not to do so.
“Failure to do that for a first violation is $175.30, and 2 demerit points” says Schmidt. “And if you fail to do it a second time within a year, it’s $213.10.”
The second violation will also cost two demerit points. The sheriffs asks that drivers please remove any debris or other materials that causes obstruction and prevents them from seeing the road clearly.
