(Beaver Dam) An Oshkosh man was arrested over the weekend following an eight hour standoff with Dodge County authorities. The Juneau Police Department initiated a pursuit with a Chevrolet Envoy just after 8pm Saturday. Sheriff’s deputies joined the chase which headed westbound on County Road W. The Envoy left the roadway shortly after leaving Juneau and struck a squad car when re-entering the highway. The pursuit continued to Beaver Dam where the Envoy crashed into a Juneau police car and a deputy’s squad car, disabling both vehicles. The Envoy turned eastbound on County Road W and ran off the road just west of Crystal Lake Road. Authorities established a perimeter as they learned the suspect had a firearm. Armored vehicles were brought in from the Dodge and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. After nearly eight hours of negotiations, an extraction plan was executed safely just after 4am Sunday morning and the suspect was arrested with no injuries. The 25-year-old Oshkosh man was taken to a local hospital as a precaution, then was transported to the Dodge County jail. The suspect will be facing multiple charges stemming from this incident which remains under investigation.
