Dodge County Sees Recent Uptick In COVID Deaths

(Dodge County) Dodge County has seen a recent uptick in the number of COVID deaths. The county’s health department confirmed 14 deaths Monday along with one probable death. That brings the total death count to 296 with 260 confirmed and 36 probable deaths.

Health officials recorded 435 new cases Tuesday with five additional hospitalizations. Active community cases stand at 1,180, it was 748 on Monday.

The seven-day daily average of new cases per 100-thousand people has reached an unprecedented high. The rate is at 302.4, it was 271.3 on Monday, and 173.8 last Friday. Twenty-five cases and above is what health officials classify as the “tipping point.”

Dodge County remains in the critically high COVID activity level, according to the state health department. The county has a growing case trajectory of 148-percent.

So far, 51.4-percent of Dodge County residents have had at least one dose of the vaccine while 48.5-percent have completed the vaccination series.
