(Dodge County) Jobless claims in the region stayed relatively steady in the month of August.
The state Department of Workforce Development says the unemployment rate in Dodge County was 2.8-percent in the eighth month of 2022, down a tenth of percent from July. Last year, the figure was 3-percent. Dodge County improved one spot in the statewide unemployment ranking to 15th.
Columbia County saw the exact same change in jobless numbers as Dodge County. Their figure last year was 3-percent.
Fond du Lac County saw their jobless numbers stay the same month-to-month at 3-percent. In 2021, the figure was 3.1-percent.
Jefferson County also so no change in their jobless claims from July to August which was 2.9-percent. A year ago, the county had a rate of 3.2-percent.
Statewide jobless numbers in August were 3.1-percent, a tenth of a percent jump from July.
