Dodge County Organization Offering Support Group For Those Who Lost A Young Loved One

(Beaver Dam) A Dodge County organization is providing grief support groups for those who have lost a child or a sibling. Bo’s Heavenly Clubhouse is a child loss charity group dedicated to helping parents, family members, and children cope with the death of a young loved one.

At a recent grief group, parents had a unique workshop where attendees were given the opportunity to break porcelain bowls with a hammer. President and Founder of Bo’s Heavenly Clubhouse, Amanda Hartwig, explains how it works and how it can be therapeutic.

“They are starting with a whole bowl, then when they break it, it will be in pieces,” says Hartwig. “And so, we are going to paint the outsides of them in what they feel like what represents them on the outside.”

Hartwig notes that the thoughts and feelings of the participants are written on the inside of the bowls as well.

The children’s grief group is held every third Monday from 5:15pm to 6:15 for six through 12-year-olds and at 5:30pm to 7:30pm for 13 through 18-year-olds at Christian Life Fellowship in Mayville.

The parents’ grief group is held every second and fourth Monday from 5:30pm to 7pm at Higher Grounds Coffee House in Beaver Dam.
