Dodge County Deputy Completes Drug Recognition Expert Course

(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has another drug recognition expert. Deputy Scott Anderson attending the Fall Drug Recognition Expert course, held between October and November in Franklin.

Sheriff Dale Schmidt says Anderson successfully completed the program, known for its demanding and highly-challenging curriculum. Anderson attained certification and has already begun performing evaluations on drivers who are suspected of being impaired with substances other than alcohol.

The sheriff’s office now has five certified drug recognition experts. Schmidt says the course is federally funded and operated by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety.
