Dodge County Authorities Pursue, Arrest Fleeing Suspect

(Iron Ridge) Dodge County authorities pursued another suspect Sunday. A sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle traveling 21-miles-per-hour over the speed limit on Highway 33 near Peirce Road.

The driver fled from law enforcement, driving to his home and running inside. The driver, reportedly identified as Christopher Leu of Iron Ridge, failed to comply with the deputy’s legal order to stop. The 57-year-old did come back out of the house and then complied with authorities.

He was taken into custody and transported to the county Jail. Leu is facing felony charges of Fleeing as well as Resisting and Obstructing an Officer.

Sheriff Dale Schmidt says this is the second pursuit that occurred in Dodge County on Sunday and the actions of the suspect put not only his own life and the life of the deputy at risk but also the lives of other motorists on the roadway.

He says once again, the Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public that stopping for law enforcement is always the best option. The sheriff says his office will always work to hold people accountable for failing to stop as was evidenced by yesterday’s two arrests.
