LOMIRA – A Lomira man was arrested Saturday after the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says he refused to come out of a home while deputies were attempting to take him into custody on a warrant.
Sheriff Dale Schmidt says deputies responded shortly after 2PM to a minor disturbance at a residence on South Avenue in the village of Lomira. According to the sheriff’s office, the man was on probation and had an arrest warrant issued through probation and parole.
Deputies attempted to arrest him at the home, but Schmidt says he refused to come outside, locked the doors, and went back inside. Authorities say attempts to convince him to leave the home were unsuccessful.
Shortly before 6PM, deputies entered the home with a patrol K9 and arrested the man without incident. The sheriff’s office says no force was used and the man complied once deputies found him.
The man was evaluated by medical personnel and taken to jail on the warrant.
The sheriff’s office identifies him as 29-year-old Austin Luebke of Lomira. Schmidt says an additional charge of resisting or obstructing an officer will be requested through the Dodge County District Attorney’s Office.
Lomira First Responders and Mayville EMS assisted at the scene. Charges are accusations, and Luebke is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
