(MADISON) Democrats in the Wisconsin Legislature accuse Republicans of not budgeting enough money for the state’s professional licensing agency. Representative Deb Andraca (D-Whitefish Bay) says the Department of Safety and Professional Services is a success story that deserves support.
“The median time to get a license is only 15 days. But instead we are taking things away and we are jeopardizing the customer service, excellent customer service that we should be providing to Wisconsinites,” said Andraca. So for me, it’s more like if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Representative Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) co-chairs the legislature’s budget-writing committee. In a statement, he says the Republican budget makes sure the agency can operate effectively, and provide critical services.
