(Juneau) A number of area sheriff’s offices including Dodge County’s received grant funds from the Office of Emergency Communications.
The office recently announced the awarding of 19 grant projects totaling $5,611,235 in state funding to local dispatch centers across the state. Funding will be used for various projects related to dispatch equipment upgrades, advanced training necessary for Next Generation 911 implementation, and consolidation efforts.
Dodge County received $375,470 which will allow the agency to rehab its backup dispatch center in Beaver Dam. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office got just over $515,000 while the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is in line for $425,577.
