(Juneau) The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has been highlighting their employees and the work that they do by posting on their app, website, and Facebook. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the department started doing this a couple months ago.
“I went over to Summer [Zuelke] who takes care of my social media stuff for me, and I said, ‘I’d really like to start highlighting our staff,’” says Schmidt. “She started doing it about a year ago and she posted one, and then I posted something shortly after and she said ‘Sheriff! You kinda walked over my idea there!’ and I said I apologize.”
Schmidt says the department will highlight one employee each month for their contributions. Last month Correctional Officer Melissa Watkins was highlighted.
“She’s been a 24 year veteran in the jail and just been phenomenal,” says Schmidt. “She’s one of our go to people in field training officer, booking specialist, just does a fantastic job at our jail and so we wanted to highlight her and give her some credit for the work that she does.”
The sheriff says this began in February by highlighting deputy Brad Kulibert, a field training officer who works the night shift. In April, the sheriff’s office is highlighting Deputy Dustin Waas.
