(Beaver Dam) Going-out-of-business sales start Friday at locations owned by Bon-Ton, Incorporated. It was announced Thursday that 212 stores will be closed by the parent company’s liquidation, now including Boston Stores in Janesville and two Madison shopping malls. Bon-Ton has a total 250 stores, 38 of which had already been in liquidation from a previously announced store closure process. That includes the Beaver Dam location. A group of liquidators and creditors bought Bon-Ton out of bankruptcy for nearly $800 million in an auction that ended Tuesday and was approved by a judge Wednesday. The liquidation sales are expected to last for 10-to-12 weeks. All stores will be closed no later than August 31. Brands affected by the Bon-Ton liquidation also include Carson’s, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s, and Younkers. More than 22-hundred Wisconsin workers will lose their jobs.
