(Madison) The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection received and responded to 11,374 written consumer complaints in 2024. One of the top complaints last year was landlord-tenant issues.
There were a total of 2,525 complaints filed with the most common complaints being failure to maintain the premises, security deposit returns, unauthorized entry and mold and infestation. In addition to the landlord-tenant issues, the DATCP received 45 complaints about manufactured housing and manufactured housing community concerns. Another top complaint was telemarketing.
The department received 1,513 complaints with most being issues about phishing and spoofing, imposter scams, robocalls, harassment, and Do Not Call Registry violations. Other top issues included telemarketing, home improvement and identity theft. A link to more information is available HERE.ย
