Dallman Says Money Was Included In Budget To Get Three Columbia County Bridges Reopened

(MARKESAN) State Representative Alex Dallman says money was included in the state budget to get three bridges over railroad tracks in Columbia and other counties reopened. Dallman sits on the legislature’s Joint Finance Committee.

He says the bridges have been closed for nearly a decade, which is a problem especially for law enforcement, EMS, and fire responding to calls for service. He says unfortunately maintenance of those types of bridges is usually up to the railroad companies.

The money in the budget will be used by the counties and townships to fix those bridges. At the invitation of the Cambria-Friesland Chamber of Commerce Dallman recently held an information seminar in Friesland updating residents in the Friesland area about one of those bridge projects, state budget highlights, education bills, and more.
