(BEAVER DAM) A consultant is recommending that Beaver Dam build two new fire stations. There will be more information when a representative of the Five Bugles consulting firm makes a presentation to the Beaver Dam Common Council on Monday night.
Last summer, the consultant said if the city were to go with two new fire stations, the best places would be the Department of Public Works property to serve the south side, and a spot on East Industrial Drive near El Guacamole to serve the north side.
But the Common Council could decide to build only one new fire station if alders determine the cost of two stations is too high. Experts say the 67-year-old fire station on Henry Street is obsolete.
