2022 Columbus High School grad Christian Oppor was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 5th round (152nd overall) of the Major League Baseball Draft. He pitched last season for Gulf Coast State, which is a junior college in Panama City, Florida.
Oppor appeared in 13 games last season at Gulf Coast State, making 12 starts. He had a 3-5 record and struck out 76 batters.
Oppor was selected in the 11th round of last year’s MLB Draft by Oakland but chose not to sign a contract and attend Gulf Coast State.
