Columbus Teen Wins Big At Wisconsin 4-H Horse Association Contest

(Beaver Dam) A Columbus teen recently brought home three grand-champion ribbons during the Wisconsin 4-H Horse Association Speaking and Demonstration Contest. Kathryn Witzel won her ribbons in three different categories.

The 18-year-old has been in the 4-H horse and pony project since she was in the third grade. With her grand-champion awards, she is headed back to nationals where she competed in 2019 representing the state with her demonstration at the American Quarter Horse Congress.

Most of the Dodge County 4-H horse and pony live-animal competition takes place before the annual Dodge County Fair starts in August, however model horses are judged and on display during the fair.

Witzel graduated from Columbus High School this year. She says she wants to get her CDL and drive a diesel truck.
