Columbus Man Killed In Motorized Skateboarding Accident

(Columbus) A Columbus man was killed in a motorized skateboarding accident Saturday. The Columbus Police Department and paramedics were dispatched to the 700 block of Fuller Street around 6:18pm.

Upon arrival, officers determined the 26-year-old was riding the motorized skateboard on the roadway, lost control, and crashed. Lifesaving efforts began immediately, and UW Hospital’s Med Flight Helicopter responded. A Med Flight physician pronounced the man dead at the scene.

No other vehicles or individuals were involved. Authorities say he was not wearing a helmet.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family. The accident is under investigation by the Columbus Police Department.
