Columbus Hosting Informational Meeting For Planned Highway 73 Improvement Project

(Columbus) An informational meeting in Columbus will discuss planned improvements to Highway 73 in Columbia County. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says the proposed project would address pavement conditions along 1.3 miles of 73 between Faith Drive and Middleton Street.

Work would include roadway resurfacing, new pavement markings, and reconstruction of sidewalk curb ramps to meet current ADA standards. The project is currently slated for the 2025 construction season. Temporary easements and road right-of-ways would be required where sidewalk curb ramp improvements are to be completed.

The meeting will be held at the Columbus Area Senior Center at 125 North Dickason Boulevard Wednesday, August 17th, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. DOT officials say there will be a brief presentation beginning around 5:15pm.

Adjacent property owners are encouraged to attend the meeting. Input received by August 31st can be considered in the project design process.
