(Columbus) The Columbus City Council discussed the final plat for Cardinal Heights located at 1400 Park Avenue during a special committee meeting. The plan commission recommended approval of the plat on the condition that items in the review letter be addressed. The final version has the storm water pond beyond the 50-foot DOT setback, Lot 18 beyond the 50-foot setback, and the driveway for the farmhouse accessing O’Brian Court. Alderman Michael Lawson wanted to know if the design was impacted by the 42-unit apartment with the setback changes.
“We have not seen a layout on that [because] this is the plat.” Director of Community and Economic Development Mike Kornmann said. “But the developer is comfortable with this layout. They had to do some work to come up with this layout, but they’re comfortable with this.”
After some further discussion, the matter was moved to the regular council meeting where it was unanimously approved.
