(Columbus) The Columbus City Council approved the 2024 street maintenance program at a recent regular council meeting.
This is an annual plan that is budgeted in the general fund budget and has traditionally been a combination of patching, slurry seal, crack sealing, and overlay. Work for this year includes overlays on Chapel Street, Thayer Street, and John Street and work on the Columbus Fire Department parking lot. Both Chapel Street and Thayer Street would cost $19,813 each for a total cost of $39,626. John Street will cost and was priced out by the county. The maintenance work on the parking lot will cost $8,800.
