(Columbus) A new position in Columbus has been filled. City leaders recently announced that Nick Gahlman will serve as it’s municipal services director.
They say that this is a new position for the city that encompasses overseeing the electric, water, wastewater, and public works department. Gahlman brings with him a wide range of experience in each one of those categories, Columbus officials noted.
They add that he has spent over 10 years with the city of Juneau and in his most recent position, was their electric superintendent. Gahlman also worked closely with their water, wastewater, and public works department. Officials say that experience gave their new hire a wide variety of knowledge to be successful in his new role.
Gahlman’s first official day is August 15th.
