Columbus 16U Legion Still Alive At State

The Columbus 16U American Legion baseball team stayed alive in the American Legion State Tournament in Onalaska with an 11-1 win over the Beloit Bandits on Saturday.    Columbus dropped their tournament opener on Friday night 8-2 to Stoddard Post 315.   Columbus will face Chippawa Falls in an elimination game at 11am on Sunday.

9 a.m. – Game 1 – Chippewa Falls 8, Wittenberg 0

11:30 a.m. – Game 2 – Sparta 6, Fond du Lac 5

2 p.m. – Game 3 – Stoddard 8, Columbus 2

5 p.m. – Game 4 – Onalaska 7, Beloit 2

Saturday, July 26

9 a.m. – Game 5 – Wittenberg 3, Fond du Lac 2 – Fond du Lac (18-9) eliminated

11:30 a.m. – Game 6 – Columbus 11, Beloit 1 – Beloit (17-7) eliminated

2 p.m. – Game 7 – Sparta 1, Chippewa Falls 0

5 p.m. – Game 8 – Stoddard (9-4) vs. Onalaska (15-11)

Sunday, July 27

11 a.m. – Game 9 – Columbus (8-3-1) vs. Chippewa Falls (20-12)

2 p.m. – Game 10 – Wittenberg (18-4) vs. Loser Game 8

5 p.m. – Game 11 – Sparta (16-1) vs. Winner Game 8

Monday, July 28

1:30 p.m. – Game 12 – Winner Game 9 vs. Loser Game 11

4 p.m. – Game 13 – Winner Game 10 vs. Winner Game 11

Tuesday, July 29

1:30 p.m. – Game 14 – Winner Game 12 vs. Winner Game 13

4 p.m. – Game 15 – Repeat if necessary, or Winner Game 14 vs. Loser Game 13

Note 1: Pairings for Games 12 and 13 will not match previous opponents against each other unless necessary.

Note 2: If three teams remain after Game 13, the winner of Game 11 draws the bye in Game 14.
